Professor Andre Morize will speak this evening at 8 o'clock in the Trophy Room of the Union on "Impressions of the First Weeks of the War". All members of the University are invited to attend the meeting, which will be under the auspices of the James A. Shannon Post of the American Legion. Professor J. L. Coolidge '95, Commander of the Post, will talk briefly on Post affairs and introduce the speaker.

Professor Morize, who was not a soldier by profession, enlisted in the French Army when the war broke out. He was wounded in the Battle of the Marne, at which time he was serving as a Sergeant. Later he received a Croix de Guerre for conspicuous bravery. In May, 1917, at which time he held the office of Lieutenant, he was a member of the mission sent to Harvard by the French Government. While here he received a commission as Captain.

After the armistice was declared and the R. O. T. C. broke up, he was attached for a short time to a training camp in Washington. Last year he returned to the University and received an appointment as Assistant Professor of French Literature, which position he now holds.
