The Dramatic Club yesterday announced the plans of a competition for poster designs, scenery, and costuming, to be used in the plays produced this fall; the competition is open to all members of the University. Posters and designs must be handed in to D. M. Oenslager '23, who is in charge of the competition, at 35 Russell Annex; the winners will be eligible to membership in the club.

Eighty men reported for the first reading of the plays in Peabody Hall. J. M. Brown '23 read "The Witches' Mountain", and W. P. Scott '22 read "The Violins of Cremona". Announcement was made that trials for the cast will, take place in Paine Hall in the Music Building on October 24, 25, and 26, between 7 and 9.30. All those who were unable to attend the reading will be privileged to sign up for trials In blue books at Leavitt and Perice's. Men who report must come prepared with some part in a play, so that the voices of the candidates and the type of part best suited to each one may be tested.

There is still an opportunity for men to sign up for the stage department. All stage men are meeting at the Dramatic Club room in the Union at 7 o'clock tonight. Any men who have not signed up but who are interested in stage work can report then and join the competition without being handicapped.
