HARRIERS TO MEET M. I. T. ON FRIDAY

Both University and Freshman Cross-Country Men to Race Tech on Belmont Course--Handicap Time Trials Held Yesterday Afternoon

This week Coaches Bingham and Farrell are putting the finishing touches on the University and Freshman cross-country teams. Handicap time trials were held yesterday afternoon over the Belmont course. Today practice will be over the new Cambridge course, and light workouts will be held tomorrow and Thursday at the Locker Building. Friday afternoon both teams will race M. I. T. at Belmont. F. G. Bemis '22, captain of the University harriers for the second successive year, is the most experienced man on the squad, while W. J. Burke '23, a transfer from Notre Dame, is reputed to be one of the strongest distance men in the country. The following were the first five men to finish in yesterday's races:

University.--R. H. Thompson '23, ten-minute handicap, first; H. L. Gilbert '24, eight minutes, 30 seconds, second; T. S. Hannington '23, nine minutes, third; P. R. Brown '23, nine minutes, fourth; and J. H. S. Moynahan Sp., 11 minutes, fifth.

Freshman.--F. K. Hardy, five minutes, 30 seconds, first; A. E. Burtt, four minutes, 20 seconds, second; E. S. Ferguson, four minutes, third; R. A. Perry, four minutes, 20 seconds, fourth; and K. P. Smith, three minutes, ten seconds, fifth.
