Coach Donovan spent most of the time at track practice yesterday working with the relay team candidates. After warming them up and giving them practice in starting and passing the baton, he organized informal teams and raced them against each other. The teams were composed of both University and Freshmen candidates, and as they were not chosen with reference to their ability, no times were taken. The races were merely for the purpose of giving all the men, especially the Freshmen, practice under racing conditions. That such practice is necessary in the case of the 1924 relay asspirants was evident.
W. C. Bennett '23 was the only man to run a time trial for the 880-yard relay team. While the weather was more favorable, he made about the same time as was made in the trial races Thursday.
Coach Farrell's call for football men for the weight events has resulted in C. A. Tierney '22, who got his "H" in football last fall, reporting for the shotput. While Tierney's work now is rather crude, he shows power, and with practice ought to make a place on the team.
The entries for the B. A. A. games close today, so this list and that which was printed in yesterday's Crimson contain all the University entries.
