1924 BASKETBALL FIVE WINS

CAPTAIN GORDON STARS

In one of the fastest basketball games seen on the University Courts, the Crimson Freshman quintet defeated the Dartmouth Freshmen 40-34 yesterday afternoon. It was not until toward the end of the game that the yearlings were able to pull away. Good passing and shooting by both teams featured the first half. Dartmouth had a strong scoring combination, and led 24-21 at half time.

At the start of the second period neither team scored, although both threatened. With only a few minutes, and Dartmouth leading by 4 points, Gordon's free throws evened the score, and in the last minutes of play, Gordon, Sipp and Stevens each sank a basket. Several times the losers came near scoring, but superb guarding by Rudolfsky and Black held them to only one basket.

Captain Gordon of the victors was high point scorer, putting in seven baskets and twelve free throws, while Stevens and Malcolm of Dartmouth came next with twelve points each.
