WHITING WILLIAMS TO JOIN BUSINESS STAFF

13 SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED

Whiting Williams, vice-president of the Hydraulic Pressed Steel Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio, has been appointed Lecturer on Labor Problems at the Graduate School of Business Administration. Mr. Williams has done much speaking in recent months on his experiences and observations during a period when he worked as a day-laborer in order to study labor conditions at first-hand.

A number of important fellowships and scholarships have been awarded by the Corporation of the University.

Audollent Wins Chapman Fellowship

The Victor Emanuel Chapman Fellowship, endowed in memory of Victor E. Chapman '13 of New York, and assigned each year to a French youth for study at Harvard, has been awarded for the year 1920-21 to Dominique Audollent. Mr. Audollent, who is 23 years old, is the son of the dean of the Faculty of Letters at Clermont University in France. He fought at the front during the war, was made a lieutenant in the French army, and was three times cited for his fine behavior. He plans to undertake economic and legal studies at Harvard.

The William O. Moseley Travelling Fellowship at the Medical School has been awarded to Dr. Arlie V. Bock, who has been this year an assistant in the school.

The Virginia Barret Gibbs Scholarship, for distinguished work in zoology, has been awarded to John F. Fulton Jr. '22 of St. Paul, Minn., who recently won both a first and second prize in the Bowdoin competition.

Fiske Scholarship Awarded to Birdsall

The Fiske Scholarship at Trinity College, given in memory of Charles H. Fiske III '19, by his father, goes to Paul Birdsall '21 of Albany, N. Y. This will enable Mr. Birdsall to spend next year in study at Trinity College, Cambridge, England.

Murphy Scholarships have been assigned for next year to T. B. Murphy 1M. and R. T. Murphy '23. University Scholarships, for graduate students, go to R. W. Helmkamp, C. M. Hutchings, H. E. Miller, F. V. Scholes, H. M. Jones and L. LaPaz, and an Austin Scholarship for Teachers goes to A. D. E. Chapman of the Graduate School.

A Sheldon Fellowship in Social Ethics has been awarded to Niles Carpenter of Cambridge and one in Geology to Norman E. A. Hinds of Denver, Colo. Both are graduate students.
