"Friendly Enemies"

A "Harvard Club of New Haven" would seem to be the most startling novelty of the year. This organization, composed of Harvard men residing in this city--and connected, we suppose with the University--is evidently not at all the inimical organization that might be inferred from the name. One is led to think of the fabled "Yale Club of Harvard" which a group of undergraduates at that institution are said to have formed shortly before the war broke out. But the organization here is a graduate affair, and started in its career auspiciously by contributing to the Alumni Fund--"as a testimonial of their interest in Yale's problems," which were the theme of discussion at the first meeting. It is not inconceivable that this organization might make some valuable suggestions to the University. A little impetus such as it could give to Faculty consideration of the General Examination system, recently adopted at the rival institution, might lead to a considerably broader viewpoint on our own system. Any change in the system in the direction of greater broadness would certainly be welcomed by the undergraduate body. --Yale News.
