Since the arrival of its Aeromarine plane from Philadelphia last week the University Aeronautical Society has been able to begin its plan of training undergraduates to quality as pilots. A. H. Andrews '20, one of the two men selected, has been given his first flight and his training will continue until he has taken the requisite 15 hours of solo flight.
The Aeromarine has completely satisfied the expectations of the Aeronautical Society. With a maximum of safety, dual control, and a speed of 75 miles an hour, it is admirably suited for training purposes.
The flying at Marblehead is conducted under the same rules as at a Navy station. R. A. Griswold Occ., Chief Pilot, is in charge of all flights; under him, W. V. Daugherty '20 and L. K. Marshall '20 act as instructors.
