The University debating team will meet Syracuse at Albany tonight under the auspices of the Syracuse Alumni or that city. J. J. Tuton IL., B. H. Kuhus '22, W. S. Holbrook, Jr., '21, and B. F. Jones '22, alternate, will uphold the negative of the same question as that in the Bates contest last Monday: 'Resolved, That the United States should adopt the Plumb Plan as embodied in the Sims Bill for the operation of the railroads--constitutionality granted."
The semi-final trials which were to have been held in Harvard Hall last night have been postponed until Tuesday. The nine men who will participate in the Triangular debate will be selected directly after these trials. The subject for that debate--"Resolved, That Congress, should adopt all measures necessary to repress propaganda for the ultimate over-throw of republican government"--has been protested by the University debating council. Both Yale and Princeton have accepted the Protest and negotiations are now under way to secure another which will be satisfactory to all. It is unlikely that any material change will be made.
