Amherst freshmen successfully celebrated their annual banquet at Young's Hotel. According to tradition the sophomores tried to capture members of the yearling class--especially the President, but the majority evaded them.
Lorimer, the President, escaped to his home town several days previously and then made his way to Boston assisted by a strong-arm squad of freshmen, in spite of 1923 detective work.
A long list of speakers and entertainers were on the banquet program, which lasted till midnight. The freshmen arrived home at 4.30.
