A Last Call

For those Harvard men who, for one reason or another, did not see their way clear last year to contribute to the endowment fund, the next four weeks will be practically the "last call" for that most satisfactory of all repasts, a clear conscience.

President Lowell has shown clearly the urgent needs of the University and the necessity of securing the remainder of the fund which the alumni pledged itself to raise some fifteen months ago. Yet while the financial contract stands $2,800,000 unfulfilled, the moral obligation rests heavier on the 8500 Harvard men who have not given a single dollar in this campaign.

The present class campaign actually began two weeks ago, but will officially start today. It will continue until December 4. It is certainly a great opportunity for these unenrolled 8500 graduates, and it is unbelievable that they will allow 60 percent of the alumni to receive the credit of having raised the fund.

The class dinners held in this city on Friday night gave the good cause a great impetus. With the co-operation of their classmates in other parts of the world. It is confidently expected that every class organization from 1850, with its three survivors, to 1920, with a membership of nearly 500, will make every effort to reach the goal of 100 percent for the fund. --Boston Herald
