SWIMMING CANDIDATES MEET AT 7 TONIGHT

MANAGER CANDIDATES OUT

All candidates for the University and Freshman swimming team are to report at the meeting which will be held in the H. A. A. at 7 P. M. tonight. Although six letter men will be eligible to swim on the University team, there is an excellent opportunity for new men to win their letter. Consequently all men interested in the sport, regardless of their degree of ability or previous experience, may come out. Commencing tomorrow, practice will be held for an hour every weekday afternoon in the Boston Y. M. C. A. tank.

Mr. Michael Prendergast has consented to coach both the University and Freshman teams this year but his appointment has not yet been ratified by the Athletic Committee. Mr. Prendergast is a well-known swimmer as he was a member of the Brookline Gymnasium relay team which broke the world's record for the relay event in 1916. Previously, in 1914 and 1915, he was on the Brookline High School swimming team which won the National Interscholastic championship. In 1917 and 1918, he was on the Brown University team. After joining the navy, he was chosen swimming instructor of the second naval district.

Although the schedule for this year has not yet been approved by the Athletic Committee, it will probably include meets with all the teams on last year's schedule, which were Amherst, Annapolis, B. U. Brown, M. I. T., Princeton, Springfield College, Yale and Williams. A trip to Dartmouth will be made at the time of their winter carnival and a two-day trip to New York is probable, as a triangular meet in which the University will take part is scheduled to be held there.

Candidates for second assistant manager and Freshman manager are to report at 1.05 today at the H. A. A.
