PRINCETON PLAYS SOLVED BY TEAM IN DUMMY SCRIMMAGE

GASTON AND HUBBARD ONLY MEN NOT CERTAIN TO PLAY

Football practice yesterday started in the usual Monday way, with a long talk by Head Coach Fisher, who pointed out the mistakes which occurred in the Virginia game.

Then followed a dummy scrimmage with the second team. Whether the crispness of the weather, or the fact that the Princeton game is only a few days off was responsible for it, the whole team ran through their formations with a preciseness and snap which has not been so evident all season. Time after time, the second team man was stopped in his tracks, time after time the famous Princeton formations were theoretically completely blocked or snowed under. If the eleven shows the knowledge of the Tiger plays that it showed today, and if these plays are not supplemented by something of a very surprising brilliancy, Princeton will have its hands full to cross the University goal line.

Good News From Injured Men

Coming at the same time as this increased enthusiasm, the news that, with two exceptions, all of the men who have been injured will probably be able to play in the Princeton game, is welcome indeed. Gaston and Hubbard are the only two uncertain men on the list. Although Hubbard has done fine work this season at the tackle position, his loss would not be irreparable as Sedgwick now seems sufficiently recovered to take part in the games in the future. But besides, Sedgwick, Coach Fisher has other men of exceptional and proved ability to use if necessary; namely Lockwood and Eastman. Faxon, who was out of the line-up Saturday with a slight injury, is now back at his old place in the line. Fitts, who played such a brilliant game against Virginia, although slightly injured, was also in uniform yesterday.

Although the results of the teaching of Brickley are clearly discernible, the punting of the backfield yesterday still left much to be desired.
