The University tennis team will be more handicapped this year than either Yale or Princeton, for Captain de Turenne is the only man back. Yale loses only three of last year's six, while the whole of the Princeton team has returned to college. Harvard, however, besides the former substitutes and second team material, has several men available from last year's yearling squad. Of these Captain Duane, Knox, and Farnham have showed up particularly well.
The players who show up best in the tournament will probably be formed into a squad for the fall practice. These men, in order to continue practice after weather conditions prevent playing out doors, will join the Chestnut Hill covered courts. Schedules will be made out for practice there, and only members will be allowed to play. From this squad will be picked the team to make the southern trip this winter, Next spring an elimination tournament will be held, at which time the members of the team may be challenged for their positions.
The Freshman dormitories will have tournaments, just as last year, and teams will be chosen to play interdormitory matches.
