In the second game of the fall baseball practice yesterday, Teams A and B were obliged to divide honors again; the score was 2-2 at the end of the six-inning game. The fielding was accurate and fast but the hitting was uncertain. The pitchers inclined to be wild.
Team A made its initial tally in the last of the second frame, when J.S. Clark Jr. '23 was passed, stole second and came home when R.H. Keegan '23 drove out a hard base hit. Captain Emmons scored the other run in the next inning as Clark, at bat again, smashed out a line drive that bounced off Nowak's shins.
Butman Scores for B
P.W. Butman '23 brought in Team B's first run with a Texas leaguer. At the very end of the game, D.H. Kerr '23 scored the tieing tally single-handed by registering a home run.
Coach Slattery intends to use every man on the squad in the practice games. Goode, Field, Rice, Watson and Oakes will make up the pitching staff.
The first game is slated for Wednesday with the Saxony Mills nine on the University baseball diamond. The Brook-line Athletic Association is scheduled for Friday and the United Drug Company is to play next Monday.
