The Athletic Association announces a cup known as the Philip Nathaniel Jackson Cup, to be given every year to the fall tennis champion. It is given by Mrs. Arthur Jackson of Boston in memory of her son, Philip Nathaniel, for two years an undergraduate at the University.
Competition for the cup will take place every year at the time of the annual fall tournament. The winner of the tournament in each succeeding year will have his name engraved upon the cup and will hold it during the college year.
The purpose of the cup is twofold. It is intended first to form a record of the fall tennis champions, and at the same time to stimulate interest in the sport and to raise the standard of play in the University. The cup will soon be placed on exhibition.
