OPEN MEETING OF MUSICAL CLUB THIS EVENING AT 8

Ensemble Instrumental Vocal Program of Classical Masterpieces to Be Presented.

At the open meeting of the Musical Club of the University to be held in the club room on the third floor of the Music Building this evening at 8 o'clock, an interesting program will be presented by members of the club. The music, which is ensemble, instrumental and vocal, is representative of the best classical masterpieces. All students and officers of the University who are interested in music are cordially invited to attend the meeting.

The program for tonight is as follows: 1. Sonata, for Flute, Violin and Piano,  Gluck 2. Songs: a. Secrecy,  Wolff b. Le Soir,  Tschaikowsky c. Love Song,  Brahms 3. Recitative and Aria, for 'cello and piano,  R. Thompson '20 4. Sextet, No. 1 for 2 violins, 2 violas and 2 'cellos,  Brahms

The Musical Club was founded in 1898, with Professor John Knowles Paine, A. M. '69, as its first president, and had as its object the promotion of musical knowledge and appreciation at the University by offering a meeting place for those interested in music.

With Professor W. C. Heilman '00 of the Music Department as president the club has now a membership of 45, including officers and students in all departments of the University. Meetings are now held twice a month, at which a musical program, both of original and classical works, is presented by members. The club is also planning to give its annual public concert in March.
