To the Editor of the CRIMSON:
Tonight I saw in the "Boston American" that the Commissioner of Immigration was out to get the Harvard Liberal Club. The headline would be bad enough at any time, but to have it published at a time when Harvard is trying to raise a fund is doubly bad, and, further, when the receipts are so slow is even worse. Another factor in this respect, and this was also brought out, is a certain instructor of the History Department.
I would suggest that the activities of the Liberal Club and also of the instructor or instructors be investigated, and if they are found not to be as represented in the "American" they should be denied immediately and emphatically. If, on the contrary, the action of the individuals have been found to be questionable, steps should be taken to prevent any further misdemeanors.
It appears that there is an anti-Harvard movement being carried on by out Boston papers, and so it is up to Harvard to keep its name clear of any seditious movements and above suspicion. In concluding, it is my earnest desire to see something done immediately. DAVID H. LINDER '21
