The trials of the forty-third annual intercollegiate track meet will begin at the Stadium tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. At this time competitions will be held in the pole-vault, shot-put, and high jump, followed a half an hour later by trial heats in the 100-yard dash. Events are scheduled through 4.45 o'clock, when the preliminaries for the 220-yard dash will mark the end of the eleven trial contests.
A total of 581 athletics representing 22 colleges from all parts of the country are entered in the various events tomorrow. Of these, 45 are members of the University, a large number as compared with last year, when only four men represented the University at Philadelphia.
The Yale team will be under a handicap in the intercollegiates Saturday because of the loss of Captain Braden, who will be unable to participate owing to a dislocated shoulder. He fell from a motorcycle last Monday and an attack on him Tuesday night by rioters furthered the seriousness of this injury. Braden's event is the shot-put.
