The Hasty Pudding Club received yesterday morning a letter, which the police attribute to the Black Hand or to some socialistic club, threatening the Club if it attempts to produce its spring play "Crowns and Clowns" now being rehearsed. The latter, which is written in words and letters clipped from newspapers, reads as follows:
"BEWARE! THE SOCIETY HAS LERNED YOU MILIONAIRS ARE GOING TO GIVE A SHOW AGAINST THE BROTHER-HOOD OF THE OPPRESSED. STOP YOUR SHOW OR YOU WILL BE DAM SORRY."
There is a crude black hand sketched on the paper, and the envelope bears the post mark of Uphams Corner Station, Boston.
It is supposed that reference is made by the authors of the communication to the satirical attack made in "Crowns and Clowns" upon the Bolshevist movement and socialists in general. Yesterday evening the officers of the club stated that they had taken no action in the matter other than to notify the authorities, believing that the letter may have been composed by some would be joker in the College.
