Twelve Debaters Chosen for Team as Result of Preliminaries

As a result of the preliminary trials for the University Debating team held last Tuesday night, 12 men have been retained to speak in the final trials next Tuesday. Contrary to the previous announcement, no trials will be held today, and the selection of the nine men to represent the University will depend on their showings on Tuesday.

These trials have been divided into two sections with two teams in each section, one debating in the afternoon and the other in the evening. Twelve minutes will be devoted to constructive speaking and five to rebuttals for each speaker. The question under discussion is the same as for the last debate: "Resolved, That the United States should adopt the Plumb Plan for the operation of the railroads."
