Work on the new Ice Pavilion, to be situated in the Tech Block on Massachusetts avenue, is progressing well, but it is still impossible to give any definite date as to its completion. However, the architect in charge of the work expects to have it ready for use about the middle of December.
Much structural steel and iron work remains to be done, and there has been unexpected difficulty in arranging the piping system for the rink, but except for this delay the progress has been rapid. According to present plans there will be balconies on both ends and on one side, which will give the rink a total seating capacity of nearly 1000.
On the second floor of the building, where the rink is situated, there is a row of boxes on one side, with a passageway and promenade in back. The other side of the rink is taken up by a series of large windows. At either end of the building are the two dressing rooms for opposing teams, with showers close by them. A little back from the rink are the check and skate-sharpening rooms.
The third floor contains the three balconies overlooking the rink and in the centre balcony a space has been left for the orchestra. A little further back are the women's dressing rooms and the private locker rooms. A broad hall separates these rooms and the directors' offices from the balcony.
