After a lapse of three years the University Association football team will begin the season when it meets the Andover team on Soldiers Field at 2.30 this afternoon. During the week the team has been put through stiff practice under the direction of Coach Burgess. Yesterday, however, except for a series of races, the practice was light. Particular attention was paid to passing and dribbling.
In 1914 and 1915 the University won the championship of the Intercollegiate Association Football League, which is made up of Princeton, Yale, Cornell, Haverford, Pennsylvania, and the University. In 1916 it won third place.
The material with which Coach Burgess has been working this fall is excellent. Almost the entire team has either played on the University team or on Freshman teams before. G. Tilton '20, the captain, is the most experienced man on the field, while C. Masters '22 and V. B. Kellett Occ. both combine speed with good foot-work.
The line-up: g., Cummings; l.f., Glazier; r.f., Carpenter; c.h.b., Tilton; r.hb., Masters; l.h.b., Heard; c., Fisher; l.i.f., Henderson; r.if., Darling; r.o.f., Kellett; l.o.f., Macey.
