NINE WILL OPPOSE 302d INF. ON SOLDIERS FIELD AT 3.30

1921 PLAYS COLBY

This afternoon the University nine will face the 302d Infantry of Camp Devens on Soldiers Field at 3.30. The visitors' lineup is not known, but a close game is assured in view of the soldiers' good record in the previous engagements of the season.

Leland Brown Evans '20, of Roxbury, who has played well in the field and at the bat, has been appointed captain, and will lead the nine today, taking the place of R. E. Gross '19, who left for the Officers' Training Camp at Camp Devens on the 15th of the month. Evans was a member of the 1920 baseball nine last year, and was also a member of his class track team. He is the fastest man on the bases on the nine, and is one of the most dangerous hitters as well, S. H. Johnson '20 will probably be in the box for the University, and J. L. Mosle '20 will start on second base.

The probable batting order for this afternoon is as follows: Evans, c.f.; Wolverton, ss.; Hallowell, 3b.; Ward, l.f.; Coolidge, 1b.; Mosle, 2b.; McCouch, r.f.; Gammack, c.; O'Keeffe, p.

1921 will meet the strong Colby Academy aggregation on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Although the preparatory school nine has been playing steady ball throughout the season, the Freshmen are favored to win if they play up to their usual standard.
