INFORMALS SUFFERED DEFEAT

Beaten by Navy Yard Second Team by Score of 3 to 1.

The University informal seven suffered its first defeat of the season at the hands of the Navy Yard second team between the halves of the Freshman game at the Arena on Saturday night, when the sailors won by a score of 3 to 1. The Navy septet showed good teamwork and were very fast at following up their shots, while the University players showed a lack of team-play, due to their long lay-off, and found it extremely difficult to shoot the puck past the clever Navy goal-guard.

The game was fast and exciting throughout, and it was not until the end of the second half that Reycroft clinched the victory for the sailor seven on a pretty shot to the far corner of the University net. In the first period the only score was made by Hogan, on a pass from Tirrell. The game then progressed evenly until the second period, when Tirrell, who, with Reycoft and Connor, starred for the Navy, scored on a rebound. The single tally for the University was made toward the end of the last period by A. H. Bright '19. The latter and J. Stubbs '20 played best for the University.
