914 ON N. Y. CLUB'S WAR LIST

INCOMPLETE STATISTICS SHOW THAT 1 IN 5 ARE NOW IN SERVICE.

According to the figures at hand on January 1, 1918, and now published in the Alumni Bulletin, the Harvard Club on New York City has 870 members in active army or navy service in the war, and 44 others who are in actual field service, in uniform, in the Red Cross or the Y. M. C. A. In addition, 337 members are in auxiliary, service of some kind.

These statistics are by no means complete, especially for the auxiliary service, but they show that of the 4,919 members of the club, almost one in five is in active service, and one in four is in some sort of war service.

The members of the club in active service are distributed as follows: U. S. Army,  719 Belgian Army,  2 British Army,  14 French Army,  8 U. S. Navy,  127 Total Army and Navy,  870 Red Cross (in Europe),  41 Y. M. C. A.,  3 44 Total,  914

Service Flag Has 870 Stars.

The service flag of the club has displayed on it the figures 870 for the members who are in the armies or the navy. So far as reported, the members in the U. S. Army hold the following ranks: Major Generals,  2 Brigadier Generals;  1 Colonels,  4 Lieutenant Colonels,  5 Majors,  68 Captains,  204 First Lieutenants,  187 Second Lieutenants,  124 Enlisted Men,  72 Of the men in the army, the following number have been reported as being abroad: In England,  4 In France,  75 In Italy,  6 In Serbia,  2 In Greece,  1 The ranks of the men in the navy, so far as reported, are as follows: Lieutenant-Commanders,  4 Captains,  1 Lieutenants,  21 Ensigns,  38 Enlisted Men,  50
