TRACK PRACTICE STARTS TODAY

RUNNERS AND FIELD EVENT MEN WILL REPORT AT 2.30 O'CLOCK.

Training for the informal and Freshman track men for the winter relay races and indoor meets will commence this afternoon with regular practice on the 130-yard board track and in the baseball cage at 2.30 o'clock. New and experienced candidates will report at that time in the Locker Building for the 40-yard dash, 45-yard hurdles, 390-yard jump, shot put, pole vault and broad jump.

There will be strict training for a month before the B. A. a. races in the Mechanics Building on February 2, at which it is probable that informal relay teams in the 390 and 780-yard runs will represent the University, and individual runners in the other events. From the men who report daily for practice Freshman and informal relay teams will be picked the latter part of next week, and be given special attention to prepare them for the B. A. A meet and for other meets which may come before it. Arrangements are being completed for meets to be held by the Irish-American Athletic Association and by the Lawrence Light Guards at Medford, at which it is probable that University runners will compete.

Track work will be conducted this winter under the same status as football and hockey, and all teams will be considered as informal. Coaches Donovan and Farrell with both be present at the practice today from 2.30 until 5 o'clock and will coach the runners and field-event men throughout the month.
