MASS MEETING TO BE HELD TOMORROW NIGHT

LT. MORIZE TO SPEAK

There will be a short military mass meeting in the New Lecture Hall tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock at which the military plans for the coming year will be discussed and explained. President Lowell, Lieutenant Morize and other members of the French Mission, as well as certain officers of the R. O. T. C. will be present and will address the meeting. It is anticipated that the entire Freshman class and every remaining member of the three upper classes will attend.

In a statement given out last night President Lowell said, "I fully expect every member of the University to join one of the military courses." In order to receive the greatest amount of support from the War Department and to maintain at the University the record of those who have already left to enter the service, this will be necessary. The University will make allowance for those men who would be barred from the courses by the rules of concentration and distribution by waiving those rules in special cases; faculty assistance has been offered generously; and commutation of uniforms has been promised by the Government.

A meeting of the captains of the old Corps who are in Cambridge, in conjunction with the military authorities, will be held at two o'clock today in order to formulate plans for the organization of companies next week. Until the arrival of the officer to be detailed by the War Department as Commandant, Major Flynn, U. S. A., who has been in charge of the work of the Iron Battalion, will officiate in that capacity.

In filling out study cards today, Military Science 1, the elementary course, should be listed under half courses throughout the year, and Military Science 2 under whole courses.
