The report of the 1916-17 Social Service Committee of Phillips Brooks House shows that nearly 400 men have enlisted in some form of volunteer service throughout the year. These men have been assigned to the settlement houses and charitable institutions of Cambridge and Boston in various capacities as follows: Leaders of Boy's Clubs,  137 Teachers,  112 Entertainments,  61 Juvenile Court,  5 Associated Charities,  5 Boy Scouts,  19 Sunday Schools,  16 Speakers,  9 Miscellaneous,  25   -- Total,  389

The makeup of next year's committee is problematical, due to the unsettled conditions; but it is assured that the work will continue as usual with the opening of College in the fall. W. B. Beale '18 has been reappointed chairman for 1917-18 and F. K. Bullard '20 will serve as secretary.
