The following is the schedule of training for the week May 14 to 19: May 10, 1917.
Band: 4.50 P. M. to 6 P. M. daily, Monday and Friday, inclusive; and Tuesday, 11-12 A. M.—8.10 P. M.
1st and 2d Battalions: School of the Company, extended order, pars, 199-257, I. D. R., 24 hours; School of the Battalion, close order, pars, 258-289, I. D. R., 4 hours; School of the Battalion, combat principles, pars. 42 and 290-326, I. D. R., 8 hours; Ceremonies, pars. 708-735, I. D. R., 6 hours; Signalling, arm and flag signals, pars. 43-47, I. D. R., 4 hours; Inspection, company inspection, pars. 745-748 (omitting part applying to equipment) I. D. R., 2 hours.
Provisional Battalion: School of the Soldier and School of the Squad, pars. 51-100, 107-158, I. D. R., 8 hours; School of the Company, close order, pars. 159-198, I. D. R., 8 hours; School of the Company, extended order, pars. 199-257, I. D. R., 14 hours; Sighting Drills, pars. 13-31, Small Arms Firing Manual, 4 hours; Position and Aiming Drills, pars. 32-61, Small Arms Firing Manual, 8 hours; School of the Battalion, close order, pars. 258-289, I. 2. The time allotted for practical instruction during the week May 14 to 19, for all companies, is as follows: 8 A. M. to 12 noon, 1.30 P. M. to 5.30 P. M., daily, Monday to Saturday, inclusive.
3. The inspection prescribed for each organization will take place by companies, on Soldiers Field at 8 A. M., Saturday, May 19. The companies of the 1st battalion will be inspected by the Commandant; the companies of the 2d battalion by Captain Shannon; and the companies of the provisional battalion by Captain Bowen. This will include the inspection of clothing and equipment.
4. The following ceremonies will take place at the conclusion of each day's instruction under arms:
Battalion Parade:
1st Battalion, May 14, 5 P. M.
2d Battalion, May 15, 5 P. M.
Provisional Battalion, May 16, 5 P. M. Regimental Parade, May 18, 5 P. M.
In addition to the above, there will be a parade and review of the 1st and 2d Battalions at 11.15 A. M., Tuesday, May 15, in honor of the Board of Overseers, of Harvard University.
5. The Band will report for each of the above parades at the Stadium, at the appointed hour.
6. All cadets will study the paragraphs in the Infantry Drill Regulations and in the Small Arms Firing Manual referred to in the above schedule of training. These paragraphs are assigned as the outside reading for the week. Tests will be given later to determine the proficiency attained in these subjects.
