War Delays "Oriental Series"

The publication of more of the volumes in the "Harvard Oriental Series," a collection dealing with the literature, history and religions of ancient India, is being seriously delayed by the war, according to a statement made by Professor C. R. Lanman, of the Department of Sanskrit, and editor of the Oriental Series.

Thirty-two volumes have already been produced or else will be out in a few weeks, while others are far advanced in preparation or nearly ready in manuscript. This has been accomplished in spite of the fact that the war hampers the entire undertaking because many of the contributors are scholars of Europe and India, and also because much of the Oriental printing is done at Oxford and Bombay.
