TRACK TEAMS RACE IN B. A. A. GAMES TONIGHT

38 UNIVERSITY ENTRIES

The best runners in the East will compete in the 28th annual B. A. A. Meet which will start at the Mechanics Building tonight at 7.45 o'clock. The interest of the University is centered in the races of the three relay teams representing it. Foremost among these is the final race of the evening, the long distance relay with Yale in which each runner covers 780 yards. Yale has a strong team and is out to make up for last year's race which was won by the University when Captain Bingham beat Overton to the last corner and won by a yard. Coach Donovan has not yet decided finally who the fourth man, on the University team will be. J. Coggeshall '18, J. W. Feeney '18, H. W. Minot '17 and either J. D. Hutchinson '19 or A. R. Bancroft '17 will run. The Yale team will be composed of J. W. Overton, H. S. F. Cooper, L. Marshall and H. C. Rolfe. All except Marshall ran for Yale last year. With Overton to run the last relay, Yale appears to have an advantage, but otherwise the teams seem very evenly matched.

University Short Relay Has Advantage.

The 1,560-yard team against Cornell will be composed of E. A. Teschner '17, A. E. Rowse '18, H. W. Minot '17 and W. Willcox, Jr., '17. Cornell is sure to send down a fast quartet but the advantage seems to lie with the University's experienced runners.

Yale Freshmen Are Very Strong.

The Freshman relay team will run up against a stiff proposition in the team representing Yale 1920, according to reports from New Haven. The Crimson team will contain B. S. Blanchard '20, H. B. Davis '20, L. B. Evans '20 and P. E. Stevenson '20. Yale 1920 will be represented by R. B. Reed, E. F. Thompson, G. W. Spurr and E. C. Artkins. The last two are former Taft School stars and Reed won an enviable reputation at Mercersburg.

Many Close Races Expected.

Of the numerous races the Hunter mile and the three mile run will be most closely watched. In the Hunter mile Ivan Meyers, of the Chicago A. C., the winner of the national championship, will be matched against Mike Devanney, of the Melrose A. A., and J. W. Ryan, of the B. A. A. In the three-mile great things are expected from J. W. Ray, of the Illinois A. C. His chief competitors will be V. Kyronen, of the Melrose A. A., last year's winner, and J. Hennigan, of the Dorchester Club.

Host of Stars Entered.

A host of stars promise to make the middle distance runs endanger the old records. Competition in the 600 should be particularly keen between J. E. Meredith, of the Meadowbrook Club; F. J. Haipin and D. S. Caldwell, of the B. A. A.; H. Baker and J. T. Higgins, of the Irish-American A. C.

Well matched relays that promise to be hard fought include the B. A. A. vs. the New York A. C., Dartmouth vs. Princeton, and Brown vs. Technology.
