We pause once a year in the midst of our daily routine to pay respect to the memory of the founder of our University. The exercises are simple and solemn, befitting the character they honor. But this year an added significance is attached to the celebration, a deeper meaning, as two battalions of the Training Corps are taking part. The spirit of duty, which has formed the most cherished tradition of our college life will be shown not in words, but in the shape of living accomplishment. The University will prove once more that after the lapse of three centuries, the young men of the nation have lost none of the strength or courage of John Harvard and the men of his age.
