Smith Halls won the interdormitory hockey championship for the third consecutive year yesterday afternoon by defeating Standish 3 to 1. The game was slowed up by rather soft ice, and the feeling ran so high that several penalties were inflicted. Nevertheless there was plenty of good individual playing especially by Captain Newton of Smith and Captain Tibbetts and Dickson of the losers.
Hallowell scored first, on a long shot from the side of the rink, after 13 minutes of play. This was the only goal in the first half. In the second period Clements scored on a pass from behind the goal in two minutes, and then a spectacular dash by Discloson resulted in Standish's lone tally. He took the puck the length of the rink unaided, losing in once, and finally slipping it into the cage. Five minutes later, however, Wolverton, substituting for Pierson, increased Smith's lead with the third goal.
