A novel feature in connection with the final chapel exercises of the Amherst College seniors was the formal announcement of the election of President Meiklejohn as an honorary member of the class in view of the fact that the president and the seniors began their connection with the college at the same time. In token of his acceptance of the honorary membership conferred upon him by the class, the President doffed his doctor of laws regalia, was escorted to a place among the seniors in the front row and at the conclusion of the exercises marched out between the class marshal and class president.
