REPRESENTATION FOR 1918.

In the canvass of undergraduates for contribution to the Swimming Pool Fund 1918 has not yet been asked to shoulder its part of the burden. Since the time before the close of college was not sufficient to make possible a complete canvass of this class, the members of which are remotely situated in Cambridge, the 1918 committee decided to postpone its collection.

Present returns indicate that 1919, which is now contributing, may equal the precedent set by four previous classes, which gave the Gymnasium Fund.

Since 1918 alone has not had an opportunity to indulge its generosity, some arrangement might enable it to do so in the future. If the full amount necessary to construct the pool is not collected at the time when excavation should start, two feasible solutions present themselves: to place a mortgage upon the pool; or for the H. A. A. to present the amount lacking, if it is not too large. Then next fall, when the time is opportune, 1918 may contribute its share, either to help in paying off the mortgage, or to reimburse the H. A. A.
