LACROSSE TEAM LOST TO CORNELL

Still Has Chance to Tie for Northern College Championship.

Cornell defeated the University lacrosse team on Soldiers Field Saturday by the score of 5 to 2. Captain Collins, Palmer, and Taylor played brilliant lacrosse for Cornell, while for the University Captain O'Neil, Shaughnessy, and Sullivan starred.

In the first half Drescher, Ingalls, and Taylor scored for the visitors, and Beal caged a goal for the University. Shaughnessy replaced Franzen in the second half of the game and scored for the University. Cornell's remaining two goals were made by Drescher and Gargiulo.

Had the University won this game and the coming contest with Yale the championship of the northern division of the intercollegiate lacrosse league would have been clinched. There is still hope, however, that the University lacrosse team may hold one corner of a triple tie, if Cornell loses to Yale and that the latter is defeated by the University.
