The University tennis team defeated Pennsylvania 6 to 0 on Divinity Field yesterday afternoon. The Pennsylvanians were greatly handicapped by the loss of W. Davis, whose appearance had been expected to make the match a close one. The best contest of the day was that in which Captain R. N. Williams, 2d, 16 defeated Roland, 6-2, 6-4.
The University team will play the Hartford Golf Club at Hartford this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock. The following will make the trip: Captain R. N. Williams, 2d, '16, G. C. Caner '17, W. Rand, 3d, '17, J. S. Pfaffmann '17, J. S. Brown, Jr., '17, and H. G. M. Kelleher '18.
The 1919 tennis team will play Phillips-Andover Academy at Andover this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The four players who took the first four places respectively in the tournament for the University interscholastic championship in singles, last Saturday, will play for Andover this afternoon. These four men are as follows: C. H. Harrison, J. M. Weber, K. S. Pfaffmann, and C. H. Bradley. The Freshman team will line up as follows: Singles.--1. Captain R. C. Rand; 2. F. P. Ritchie; 3. R. H. Kissel; 4. L. K. Garrison; 5. F. M. Warburg; 6. F. W. Hatch. Doubles.--1. Rand and Kissel; 2. Hatch and Stevenson 3. Ritchie and Warburg.
Gore defeated Standish, 6 to 3, in the first match of the interdormitory tennis series on Soldiers Field, yesterday afternoon.
