HARRISON WINNER IN TOURNEY

Won Scholastic Matches Unexpectedly. Freshmen Play Law School.

H. C. Harrison, of Montclair, N. J., and a student of Phillips-Andover Academy, defeated J. M. Weber, of Chicago, also of Andover, 6-1, 8-6, 6-2, for the championship of the University Interscholastic tournament, on Divinity Field, yesterday afternoon. The winner succeeds to the title held last year by Sidney Thayer, also of Andover.

Weber was unmistakably off his usual game, whereas the winner played a swift, accurate game, repeatedly finding the corners on sizzling cross-court drives, which completely baffled his opponent. The result of the match was unexpected, in that Weber had been picked as a sure winner.

The winner will enter Princeton next fall, while the runner, who shares, with R. C. Rand '19, the National Indoor Junior Doubles Championship, will enter Yale.

The Freshman tennis team will play a picked team from the Law School, on Divinity Field, this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The 1919 team will meet a team, headed by S. M. Stellwagen Gr.L., who also captained the Law School aggregation which defeated the second team earlier in the season by a score of 6 to 3. The Freshmen will play in the following order: Singles--1. Captain R. C. Rand; 2. F. P. Ritchie; 3. C. J. Coulter; 4. R. H. Kissell; 5. F. M. Warburg; 6. L. K. Garrison. Doubles--1. Rand and Coulter; 2. Ritchie and Stevenson; 3. Kissel and Hatch.
