The second day of outdoor practice for the University crews yesterday proved rather exciting for University B. The water at Lynn was decidedly rough, fanned by a stiff breeze. University B shipped a good deal of water, and in order to keep the shell up, the crew was forced to get out in the water on a shallow bar and empty the shell. No danger was incurred, but the water was naturally very cold at this time of year, so after righting their shell, the crew sped back to the Farragut Boat Club as fast as possible.

Coaches Herrick and Haines directed the practice of the University crews, from a launch which has been secured for use while the crews are at Lynn. University A had a three-mile row, not being bothered by the rough water. The stroke was varied, but the men showed the benefit of their long practice indoors by the unity with which they increased and retarded the stroke. Both University A and B will row this afternoon, this being the first Saturday practice of the year, which will probably continue the rest, of the season, since the crews are so late in getting out on the water. There were no changes today in the first two University boats.

All other crews worked out on the machines and in the tank at Newell Boat House. No changes of importance occurred. Through the courtesy of Coach Herrick, the candidates for the Technology crews will practice at Newell this afternoon.
