The three weeks of opera to be given by the Metropolitan Opera Company in Boston the first part of April will be most valuable, for since the beginning of the war, grand opera has not been a paying proposition in Boston. The Metropolitan Company offers not only many operas new to Boston, but a list of artists including Caruso, Scotti, Farrar, Homer, and Gadski that represents the best talent to be found in the country today.
Though the engagement is very short, and includes the spring recess, the occasion is important enough to warrant the revival of the Opera Association, which in the past successfully reduced the price of Opera tickets.
