WINTER CARNIVAL TO COMMENCE TOMORROW

Captains of Interdormitory and Inter-class Relay Teams Have Been Appointed.

The Annual Relay and Winter Track Carnival will be held on the board track and in the Baseball Cage tomorrow and Thursday, beginning at 3 o'clock. Tomorrow's events in their order are as follows:

Interdormitory relay race, 12-lap race, 40-yard dash (handicap), interclass relay races, pole-vault, shot put, and 35-pound weight. The order of events on Thursday will be: 45-yard hurdles, 4-lap novice (scratch), 7-lap race, interclass relay finals, broad jump, and high jump.

The interclass and interdormitory races are the special features of the meet and in the former event there is always the keenest rivalry. Last year the class of 1917 defeated 1916 in the final race, but the Seniors are out for revenge this season.

In the interdormitory relay race, teams of six men will compete. Captains responsible for their teams are C. S. Swan '19, for Gore; J. W. Cummings '19, for Smith; and C. W. Cook '19, for Standish. The captains of the class relay teams have been appointed as follows: Freshman, H. C. Flower, Jr., '19; Sophomore, J. Coggeshall '18; Junior, W. Willcox, Jr., '17; Senior, W. J. Bingham '16. In these races teams of ten men will run, and in all the relays the distance will be two laps per man.

Entries must be made in the blue books at the Locker Building, Leavitt & Peirce's, or the Freshman Dormitories before 5 o'clock today. All competitors must have taken strength tests. Silver medals will be awarded to the winners in each event, and bronze ones will go to those getting second or third places.
