The Junior Class has voted, through the postals which were sent out by the 1918 entertainment committee, to have the entertainment at its smokers given by members of the class instead of by professionals, and to have ginger ale and other soft drinks in place of beer and cider.
The result of the vote shows that Tuesday and Wednesday in the order mentioned, are the most popular nights for the smoker. In answer to the question on moving pictures the vote favored a combination of long pictures and short comedies. Vaudeville as part of the entertainments was heavily voted against. The proposal for a special orchestra was accepted, but the majority of the class did not express themselves in favor of having singers.
The 1918 smokers, after the next, will alternate for the rest of the year on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and in other respects the suggestions on the postals will be carried out as far as possible.
Earlier Hour Impossible.
In reply to the suggestions that the smokers begin at an earlier hour the committee regrets to state that the change cannot be made, since the hour of opening is determined by the time the dining room in the Union closes.
Next Smoker January 5.
The next smoker has been arranged for January 5, the committee considering that so soon after vacation, a change from the nights preferred would not inconvenience the class.
