NATIONAL ELECTION UNDECIDED

Election Apparently Hinges on Result in State of Minnesota.

The time of going to press last night found Mr. Wilson leading in the Presidential race with 256 electoral votes to Hughes' 247. By winning in Minnesora, where he led all evening by a plurality varying between 600 and 800, the President could be re-elected. Hughes was leading in California and West Virginia, while Oregon and New Mexico were very doubtful. To win, Hughes must carry Minnesota, California and West Virginia, which is possible as the doubtful states have shown a tendency to swing to Hughes.

Before retiring for the night, each candidate expressed confidence in his ultimate election.
