NEW HAVEN, CONN., Nov. 1, 1916.--The fast offensive work of the first team resulted in long gains through the third team here today. Improved interference on the part of the backfield resulted in five touchdowns in a 30-minute scrimmage. Legore was back in the line-up after his rest on Tuesday and made three scores.
Much stress was laid by the coaches on line charging and blocking of the secondary defense. Some new formations were tried. Legore broke away once and ran 98 yards while Smith, the quarterback, made a 50-yard run.
