"The Harvard Co-operative Society loses very little through uncollectable accounts, in spite of the fact that by far the larger part of its sales are on credit. During the past year, in a total business of $445,000, the entire amount written off the books as uncollectable was $212.23; for the year preceding it was $201.51. This showing is a substantial tribute both to the pecuniary responsibility and to the spirit of fair dealing which characterize the Harvard student body." (Report of Harvard Co-operative Society)
