The first of the weekly handicap competitions in the high and broad-jump, held in the Baseball Cage yesterday afternoon, were won by M. Noble '17 and H. C. Flower, Jr. '19, respectively. Noble cleared the bar at 5 feet 7 inches, a handicap of 3 inches giving him a total of 5 feet 10 inches. R. O. West '19 was second in the high-jump, with a total of 5 feet 8 inches, including a 3-inch handicap. E. W. Bullard '17 placed third with a jump of 5 feet 1 inch plus a 6-inch handicap.
Flower cleared 20 feet 8 inches, plus 3, handicap of 3 inches. G. J. Haydock '16 placed second, with a jump of 19 feet 9 inches and a 6-inch handicap. R. O. West, starting from scratch, was third, with a distance of 19 feet 4 1/2 inches.
This afternoon at 3 o'clock the competitions in the 35-pound weight event for both University and Freshmen the 16-pound shot-put for University and 12-pound shot-put for Freshmen will be held.
