The batting and fielding averages of the University baseball players, completed through the Holy Cross game, show an encouraging gain in the last two weeks, the team batting having risen 7 points. R. Harte '17, though he has lost some ground, still leads with the high average of .353, while R. T. Gannett '15 by his consistent work has climbed into second place with an average of .311.
In the absence of F. G. Fripp '16, Nash now heads the base stealers, and he has maintained his lead in total runs by keeping 5 runs ahead of his nearest competitor, Gannett, who has 13 to his credit. The most remarkable item brought out by the figures is Nash's fielding average of 1,000 which he has maintained by accepting 163 chances without an error.
