In the first practice game of the season the Freshman baseball team defeated Volkmann School, 15 to 8. The 1918 team showed up well, Wyche driving in several runs with a long three-base hit. Team A defeated team B, 4 to 2, in the University baseball practice yesterday afternoon. In the six-innings of play both teams showed the effects of nearly a week of idleness, as there were numerous errors. Before the game the batters were given practice against G. A. Davis, Jr., 2L., who pitched for the Boston Braves last year.
