Phillips Brooks House Notes

Social Service Committee Dinner.

The annual mid-winter dinner of the Social Service Committee will be held in the Union tonight at 6.30 o'clock. This dinner takes the place of the regular mid-year social service dinner and combines with it the conference for social workers which has heretofore been held in Brooks House. Representatives of 25 different settlements in Greater Boston will be present, and about 50 undergraduates who are doing social service work have been invited. Dr. I. E. Stowe, of the North End Union, and Mr. E. E. Jenkins, of the South End Industrial School, will speak, and there will also be several short talks by undergraduates.

Following this there will be a short discussion of problems concerning the social service work of the University. W. B. Pirnie '15, chairman of the Social Service Committee, will preside, and P. W. Carter '10 will be toastmaster.

St. Paul's Society Dinner.

St. Paul's Society will hold a dinner in Memorial Tower tomorrow at 6 o'clock. An address will be delivered by Professor J. H. Beale, of the Law School, on "The College Man and Modern Social Problems."
